 2013-2014 School Year

A few reminders and information:

  • School Supply lists are located on the HDE website
  • Uniforms are mandatory at HDE please check the website for uniform information
  • Kindergarten Orientation will take place Friday, August 16th at

 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria

  • New Student Orientation will take place Friday, August 16th at

10:30 a.m. in the cafeteria

  • Pre-Kindergarten Orientation will take place Friday, August 16th at 1:00 p.m.
  • Class Lists will be posted Friday, August 16th at 6 p.m. in the front of the school.    (school t-shirts will be available)
  • School Begins Monday, August 19th 
  • Pre-K – 1st grade 8:20 a.m. – 1:50 p.m.
  • 2nd – 5th grade 8:35 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Howard Drive Elementary School staff, parents, and the community are committed to provide a supportive environment for each student by promoting a firm academic and technological foundation, including multicultural experiences, and by fostering intellectual, emotional, and social development.


REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Age Requirements:

  • Kindergarten - any child turning 5 years old on or before September 1, 2012.

  • First Grade - any child turning 6 years old on or before September 1, 2012 who has successfully completed kindergarten or otherwise meets the criteria for admission or transfer.

All students attending school for the first time in Florida (Pre-K thru 12) must present:

  1. A Student Health Examination (HRS-H Form 3040) including proof of a tuberculin skin test, reading of test, and appropriate follow-up.
  2. A Certificate of Immunization (HRS Form 680)
  3. Proof of Age
  4. Verification of Residence
  5. Disclosure at Time of Registration (FM-5740ESH)
