HISTORY

Howard Drive is a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school.  It is located at 7750 SW 136 ST in Miami, Florida.  The original school was built in 1961 on 9.35 acres of land.  Howard Drive Elementary School is in the Miami Palmetto Senior High School feeder pattern and has a current enrollment of approximately 565 students. 

The student population is 47% White, 20% Black, 28% Hispanic, and 5% Asian/Multiracial.  The percentage of student attendance is 96.02%.  Ninety-eight  percent of fourth graders met high standards in writing on the 2006-07 FCAT.  Howard Drive received a grade of "A" for the 2006-2007 school year.

Age Requirements:

All students attending school for the first time in Florida (Pre-K thru 12) must present:

  1. A Student Health Examination (HRS-H Form 3040) including proof of a tuberculin skin test, reading of test, and appropriate follow-up.
  2. A Certificate of Immunization (HRS Form 680)
  3. Proof of Age
  4. Verification of Residence
  5. Disclosure at Time of Registration (FM-5740ESH)
